This wide-angle lens for the Leica R mount was introduced in 1964, alongside the Leicaflex. This particular unit is a 1964 model, featuring the distinctive red scale.
The rear element of the lens protrudes significantly, requiring use with the mirror up. As a lens designed specifically for the Leicaflex, it is not compatible with subsequent Leica SLR cameras. When using it on digital mirrorless cameras, please ensure that the rear element does not interfere with the camera body.
The lens comes with the matching original box, genuine dedicated hood, caps, English instruction manual, and Leica E67 UVa filter.
Both the lens barrel and the hood show no signs of use, presenting a very clean appearance.
