※About rarity

Tele-Elmarit 90mm f2.8. Black chrome finish. Serial number in the 2,280,000 range, manufactured in 1968. Late model with yellow scale. Made by Leitz Canada. It has a 5 elements in 5 groups construction. The Leitz product code is 11800.

Despite being a telephoto lens with a sufficiently bright aperture of f2.8 for practical use, it achieves a compact barrel comparable to standard lenses. It maintains ease of use with a moderate weight and easy-to-operate helicoid position, and it features a beautiful design with splendid knurling reminiscent of the Summilux 50mm.

Wide open, it delivers a moderately soft rendering, and when stopped down, the contrast significantly increases, offering rich and dense imagery.

The matching hood is 12575, and the filter size is E39.

There are only minor scuffs and paint loss from use, and it has a clean appearance with no noticeable scratches.

The focus ring has a good click feel, and the helicoid movement is smooth and stress-free. The rangefinder coupling is perfect, and the focus is accurate.

There are minor coating deterioration and a few tiny dust particles visible only under strong LED light, but they should not affect image quality. There are no noticeable cleaning marks, and the glass is clear. The test results were also excellent.

An aftermarket cap is included.
