※About rarity

Leica M3. Late model with single-stroke winding. Serial number in the 1.11 million range, manufactured in 1965. Leitz product code is IGEMO.

The Leica M3 is considered the pinnacle of rangefinder cameras. It was the model that elevated Leica to new heights in the post-war era and remains a landmark in the camera world. For those primarily using a 50mm lens, it is still one of the best choices available. It has been cherished by photographers and journalists worldwide, documenting many significant events in human history.

The camera retains its original condition and has a relatively clean appearance. It has undergone a meticulous overhaul, ensuring a smooth and enjoyable user experience.

The top cover has minor shine and wear around the Leica logo, a small scratch near the winding knob's lugs, and light wear around the lugs and on the base plate. All parts are original and consistent with the era; the gutta-percha has some minor repairs but remains largely original. The camera has a smooth feel in the hand.

In August 2024, it underwent an overhaul including a shutter curtain replacement. The operation of all parts is smooth and refined. There is slight edge cut-off in the viewfinder, typical of the M3, but it does not affect visibility, which remains crisp and clear. A genuine body cap is included.
