This is a compact ball head for Leica, with a large screw. The Leitz product code was FOOMI, later changed to 14105. Like many other Leitz accessories, the FOOMI ball head is known in numerous variations. This particular example features an aluminum base, 6mm in thickness, a large wing screw, and the hexagonal logo type.

Renowned for its extraordinarily elaborate construction—something you immediately recognize upon handling it—this Leitz ball head locks firmly in place with only light force and will not budge once secured. You can truly feel the exceptional precision of its workmanship.

This item was previously sold by our store. It was carefully used by its owner and has now returned to us.

There are some minor scuffs, but overall it shows little sign of use and remains in beautiful cosmetic condition. The black felt covering the aluminum base has become thinner over time and with use. As it is, the edge of the aluminum base may come into contact with the camera’s bottom plate, so it is best suited for a well-used body.

The operation is precise and reassuring, as expected. Ready for practical use.
