Noctilux 50mm f/1.2, the third generation following the f/1 E58, early type Nocti E60 with separate hood design. Leitz product code 11821. Serial number in the 3.11 million range. Manufactured in 1981 by Leitz Canada. Both the barrel and glass are in excellent condition, very clean.
Wide open around f/1.0, it delivers the unique Noctilux character, allowing you to fully experience its distinctive rendering. Stopping down also yields excellent results. This unit has precise rangefinder coupling, enabling sharp shooting from wide open aperture settings.
Includes hood 12539 and UVa filter 13039.
There is slight shininess on the front end of the barrel due to hood attachment and detachment, but otherwise, the black paint on the barrel remains intact, presenting a clean exterior.
Fully serviced in 2020, with careful maintenance ensuring smooth operation of both aperture and helicoid. Despite the Noctilux E60 with separate hood often having issues with rangefinder coupling, this unit's rangefinder coupling is spot on.
There are very minor coating marks on the middle element of the lens, but otherwise, the glass is clear without haze or wiping marks, in excellent condition.
