※About rarity

Elmar 50mm f3.5 with a nickel barrel. Leitz product code is ELMAR. Serial number in the 130,000 range, manufactured in 1932. The infinity lock knob is a relatively rare flat type known as bell push. The front element has been coated by Leitz in later years, enhancing its performance in backlit situations. Distance scale is in meters. Rangefinder coupled. Helicoid number is 6. This is the new Elmar from the era of the Leica DII and DIII.

Maintaining the 3-group, 4-element construction from the Early Elmar, this lens represents an early version of the new Elmar, considering the long history of the Elmar lens loved through the M-mount era. This standard lens, a quintessential Leica lens, has captured many lives and events across borders and time periods. It still performs admirably in the digital age!

There are light scuffs overall. Additionally, there is slight deterioration of the plating on the nameplate, but considering its 92-year age, it has a clean and neat appearance. There are no distortions on the nameplate.

Fully overhauled in July 2024. All parts operate very smoothly. The rangefinder coupling is perfect. The internal anti-reflective matte lacquer has been meticulously repainted, ensuring sharp image quality.

There are some very light cleaning marks on the front element, slight coating deterioration on the back of the front element, and a very small fungus mark on the rear element, but these do not affect image quality. Otherwise, the glass is clear with no noticeable cleaning marks. Test shots were very satisfactory. Perfect for practical use!
