※About rarity

Nikkor-S.C 5cm f/1.4, Leica screw mount. This item is the later version with a black-painted aperture ring, commonly known as the "black band" type. Distance markings are in feet. This Nikkor lens was supplied for use with domestic Leica copies such as Leotax. Its configuration is identical to the Nikon S-mount 50mm f/1.4 lens, known as the Sonnar copy type.
The rangefinder is coupled up to approximately 3.5 feet (about 1 meter). Extending the helicoid further allows for close-up focusing from approximately 3.5 feet to a minimum of 1.5 feet (about 45cm). In this close-up range, the rangefinder coupling is disengaged, so focusing must be done by estimation or through live view, making it quite convenient in the digital age.
Wide open to f/2, the lens delivers a soft rendering, while stopping down to f/4 rapidly sharpens the image. It's a lens that offers quite an enjoyable shooting experience.

There is some minor paint chipping on the black band section, but otherwise, the lens has minimal signs of use and looks quite clean. The movements of the aperture ring, helicoid, and other parts are smooth, and the rangefinder coupling works perfectly. There are very slight wiping marks on the front and rear elements of the lens, but they should have minimal effect on actual photography. Additionally, there are no signs of fungus or haze, and the glass is clean and clear. Test shooting results were also positive. Genuine front cap included.
