First Leica M Monochrom Leitz Park. Released in 2014, limited to 100 units. Product code is 10778. This limited model was introduced to commemorate the opening of the new Leitz Park headquarters in Wetzlar.
The first Leica MM features a monochrome-only CCD sensor, a camera that shocked the photography world. It can be considered a masterpiece of the digital era. Even now, many prefer CCD sensors over CMOS. At our store, it has been used as a test camera and a beloved device by our staff.
The rendering of the CCD M Monochrom is truly unique. The overwhelming richness of gradation, smoothness, and softness in its images is exhilarating.
The CCD has been replaced with a version that addresses delamination issues, so you can use it with confidence.
Very clean condition. Upon close inspection with a magnifying glass, there are a few small, shallow scuffs on the edge near the power switch on the top cover, minor signs of use on the strap lugs, and slight mounting marks on the lens mount. However, other than these, it shows almost no signs of use and is in remarkably clean condition. This is hardly surprising, given that the shutter count is only a little over 1200! It is in excellent condition.
The crucial CCD sensor has been replaced with a version addressing delamination issues. In April 2024, Leica Japan performed a sensor cleaning. All parts are functioning normally, and there are no dead pixels on the sensor.
Although it is not covered by the manufacturer's warranty and we can only respond to initial defects, the CCD M Monochrom, which has also been used as a demo unit in our store, is a very durable camera. You can use it with confidence.
It comes with an original box (a type not generally distributed, possibly for internal Leica use?), charger, one battery, inspection certificate, and body cap.
