Nikkor-O 55mm f1.2, modified for Leica M mount.
A camera lens manufactured by Nippon Kogaku for photographing oscilloscope screens. It has an 8-element, 6-group construction and a 12-blade circular aperture. Designed to capture the dim images on oscilloscope screens, it boasts a bright maximum aperture and excellent central resolution.
The coatings on the glass surfaces vary, featuring blue, purple, and yellow hues.
Rangefinder coupling works from approximately 0.7 meters to infinity, with a rotation angle of about 120° for quick focusing.
There are very minor scuffs on the front end of the barrel and the helicoid section, but overall, the exterior is very clean.
The glass is free of cleaning marks or haze, and it is crystal clear. The rangefinder coupling is accurate across the entire range.
The test results were also excellent. Wide open, the lens produces a very soft rendering where the light blends seamlessly with surrounding colors, but the center remains highly resolved with delicate lines and excellent texture rendering. Depending on the subject and angle of view, this lens can produce a unique and intense bokeh that almost feels like a time warp.
Sample images are available in the test gallery. We hope you take a look.
The lens comes with a non-original hood, filter, and cap.
