※About rarity

Micro-Nikkor 50mm f3.5. Leica screw mount.

Released in 1956. It has a 4-group, 5-element construction. Rangefinder coupling. The filter thread is 34.5mm screw-in. This was the first Nikon 35mm lens to bear the Micro-Nikkor name.

The rangefinder couples from 1 meter, and by extending further, it can focus down to 45cm in non-coupled mode. With a resolution of 300 lines/mm, even today, its incredible sharpness in test shots continues to amaze.

Only about 1,200 units were produced, combining both the Nikon S series and Leica versions, with less than 300 units believed to be made for Leica. The same lens sold in our store in the past also concentrated in a narrow serial number range.

This particular item shows little signs of use and is in beautiful condition. Due to its rarity, we enjoy testing it whenever it arrives, and each time, everyone is impressed by the shooting results.

A rare gem. Incidentally, the dedicated hood for this Micro-Nikkor is even rarer than the lens itself.

There are very faint marks on the retractable barrel, but overall, it has minimal signs of use and a beautiful exterior. It appears to have been carefully used.

It underwent a full sevice in 2023. The aperture and helicoid operation still feel very smooth. The rangefinder coupling is also in perfect condition.

When subjected to strong LED light, a few very faint cleaning marks can be seen on the middle element, but they should have minimal impact on actual photography. Otherwise, the glass is clear without any haze. Overall, it's a very clean lens. The test results, as always, were impressive.
