This lens is a flagship wide-aperture lens from Leitz, a long-standing bestseller produced for over 30 years since the first Steel Rim model.
From soft and dreamy rendering near wide open to sharp and beautifully defined lines when stopped down, it maintains a gentle atmosphere. It excels in fine lines and delicate rendering compared to the Summicron. The three-dimensional effect when slightly stopped down is also exceptional.

There is a very slight loss of black paint on the aperture ring, but otherwise, the lens has a beautiful appearance akin to new.
It underwent a full service in 2023. Thanks to meticulous maintenance, the aperture and helicoid operate smoothly. The focus is accurate, and the rangefinder coupling is spot on.
When subjected to strong LED light, minor coating wear is visible on the central part and its surroundings of the middle element, but it is unlikely to affect photography. There is no haze, and the glass is clear and clean.
It comes with the 12504 hood, Series 7 filter, and a matching serial number original box. This Summilux 2nd is suitable for collections.
