※About rarity

Summaron 35mm f2.8 with goggles for Leica M3. Product code 11106Q. Manufactured in 1959.
Using new glass types, the Summaron f2.8 is half a stop brighter than previous model. It features a double Gauss design with 4 groups and 6 elements. It can be used with Leica models other than the M3 as well. The goggles add weight but allow close focusing down to 0.65m, which is a great advantage. Clean glass in the goggles does not impair the viewfinder image quality.
When paired with an ITDOO or IROOA hood and the Leica M3, it epitomizes the functional beauty of German industrial products. The imaging quality is superb, with high central resolution and gentle peripheral fall-off, producing a unique and atmospheric rendering. Comes with the original front cap.

There are a few very light scuffs on the chrome-plated part of the lens barrel and the back of the goggles, but overall it is a very clean piece.

Fully overhauled in 2022, including the goggles. Thanks to meticulous maintenance, the aperture and helicoid operations remain smooth. The rangefinder coupling is perfect. The carefully serviced goggles are completely clear, offering an excellent view. When attached to a Leica M3, the 50mm frame in the viewfinder changes to a 35mm frame without affecting the viewfinder clarity.
The inner lens element shows very minor coating deterioration, only visible under strong LED light, but it does not affect image quality. There are no other scratches or haze, and the glass is very clear. The actual shooting results were excellent. Please check the test shooting gallery.
