※About rarity

A pre-war, Elmar 35mm f3.5. Leitz's product code is EKURZCHROM. Manufactured in 1938. Uncoated. Meters Scale. 4 elements in 3 groups configuration. Among Leitz lenses, it is the second thinnest lens after the Hektor 28mm.

At full aperture, it offers a sharpness at center and a nice atmospheric fall-off towards the edges. It's a classic yet deeply nuanced lens that has been gaining re-evaluation in recent years.

Compatible hoods are FLQOO or FOOKH.

There is some wear, but it comes with the original front and rear caps.

Although there are slight signs of use such as light scratches, it has a beautiful appearance for a pre-war Elmar.
Fully overhauled in 2023. Thanks to careful maintenance, the smooth-moving aperture knob and the smooth feel of the helicoid are still in good condition. The rangefinder linkage is also perfect. The anti-reflective coating on the inside of the lens barrel has also been carefully repainted, so you can enjoy a tighter image.
There is a slight trace of fungus on the periphery of the rear lens, but otherwise there are no noticeable cleaning marks or haze, and the glass is clean and clear. The glass condition is top-class for a pre-war Elmar 35mm.
The actual shooting results are also very good. Please check samples shots.
