※About rarity
Nikkor N.C 50mm f1.1 is a high-speed, large-aperture lens for Leica screw mount, manufactured by Nippon Kogaku. It belongs to the legendary ultra-fast domestic L-mount lenses, dubbed the "Four Japanese Kings" (informally named: Zunow 50mm f1.1, Nikkor 50mm f1.1, Fujinon 50mm f1.2, Hexanon 60mm f1.2). Released in 1956, it features a 6-group 9-element design and distance markings in feet. While around 2500 units were produced for the Nikon S-mount (both internal and external bayonet), only a scant 200 units were made for the L-mount. With its impressive and solid construction, packed with glass elements, it weighs a substantial 456g. The condition of this lens is superb, making it a rare find. It comes as a full set including an incredibly rare metal genuine hood for L mount type, UV filter, 50mm single frame finder, and genuine front and rear caps. Truly a collector's gem. There are very minor scratches on the outer perimeter of the filter ring, but otherwise, it boasts a beautiful appearance with no noticeable signs of use. The included metal genuine hood and finder show no signs of use and maintain their matte finish. The UV filter is modified with a genuine UV glass inserted into the frame originally meant for the Nikkor 50mm f1.1 orange filter, and there are about two scratches visible on the glass. While there are slight signs of balsam separation around the edges of the middle element, it's negligible and unlikely to affect actual photography. Alongside its beautiful exterior, the glass is exceptionally clean with no noticeable wiping marks or haze. The rangefinder coupling is in excellent condition, and test shooting results were perfect.
