※About rarity

French-made wide-angle lens by P. Angénieux. 35mm f2.5, Type R11. Exakta mount with chrome finish.

The Type R11 was introduced in 1950, and this lens, manufactured in 1960, adopted automatic aperture control, giving it a modern design. Marked in meters, the minimum shooting distance is 0.8 meters. Switching between automatic and manual aperture control is done using a lever at the bottom of the barrel.

Featuring a retrofocus design with 5 groups and 6 elements, this lens offers the characteristic gentle rendering typical of Angénieux lenses. Meticulously maintained, it provides a pleasant operational feel. With the use of an adapter, it can also be enjoyed on mirrorless cameras.

There's minimal signs of use, resulting in a quite pristine exterior. The pearlescent chrome plating looks lively and vibrant.

Fully serviced in April 2024, this lens now boasts smooth operation throughout its various functions.

On the front element of the lens, there are some typical minor coating imperfections, as well as very shallow cleaning marks. These are unlikely to have any noticeable impact on image quality.

Includes genuine rear cap and a M51 hood made by Miyazaki Optics. The hood is detachable into two parts, allowing for the attachment of a generic 58mm screw-in filter in between.
