※About rarity
Carl Zeiss manufactured interchangeable lenses for Hasselblad, Distagon 60mm f/5.6. A 60mm lens offers a slightly wide-angle perspective in 6x6 medium format photography, providing a versatile field of view. This particular item is from 1959, an early version, with distance markings in feet. The f/5.6 version was produced only for the early Hasselblad 500C following 1000F, quickly transitioning to f/4 version. It's said that only around 3000 units were made, including the subsequent f/4 version, making it quite rare in the market. While sharing a similar design with the f/4 model, subtle differences in the shape of the lens barrel, the pattern of the rollers, and the inscription on the nameplate give it a classical impression reminiscent of the Planar 6-element lens. The slender shape of the lens barrel adds to its beauty, and coupled with the convenient 60mm focal length, it's likely to attract many enthusiasts. A rare find indeed. There are signs of wear on various parts of the lens barrel due to use, but no scratches or dents are observed. Serviced in April 2024, the helicoid movement, which tends to become heavy, has become smooth, and the glass is now clean and clear. Some coating damage is visible on the middle and rear elements, but it should not affect actual photography. Genuine front and rear caps are included.
