※About rarity

Summicron 35mm f2, black with 8 elements. Serial number in the 2,190,000 range, manufactured in 1966. This item is a later model of the 8-element black version with yellow scales, made in Germany. The minimum shooting distance is 0.7m. The Leitz product code is SAWOM. The coating is purple/amber. This item weighs 181g.

Both the barrel and the glass are in very clean condition. A perfect companion for the Leica M2 or M4 black paint!

It comes with original front and rear caps, and although from a later period, an original UVa filter 13131 is included.

The black chrome shows no signs of wear, and the barrel is in excellent condition with minimal signs of use. The glass matches the beautiful exterior and is flawlessly clean.

It underwent a full service in April 2024. Thanks to meticulous maintenance, the aperture ring and focusing ring move very smoothly. The infinity stop feels natural and settles gently, making operation at long distances comfortable. The glass is free of cleaning marks or haze and is exceptionally clear. The coating is also fully intact.

The rangefinder coupling is in good working order. An ideal choice for those seeking a pristine black 8-element Summicron.
