Angenieux Zoom, manufactured between 1968 and 1980, marked Leitz's first venture into zoom lenses. Initially, it was offered for Leicaflex cameras. This particular model is in Leica R mount, with 3cam. Manufactured in 1969.
Featuring a complex 15 elements in 12 groups. It maintains a constant aperture of f/2.8, offering captivating brightness. It accepts 67mm screw-in filters or Series 8 filters with genuine hood.
Throughout its focal lengths, it delivers the distinctive smooth rendering typical of Angenieux lenses. Especially at close distances, you can enjoy rich wide-open rendering with sweet flares and beautiful bokeh. Even when stopped down, it retains a softness characteristic of Angenieux lenses.
Minor scratches, paint loss, and slight glossiness typical of regular use can be observed. Despite these, it maintains a good exterior condition, making it a practical choice. When mounted on the Leica SL and tested, it exudes a cool appearance. The lens's linear design harmonizes well with the Leica SL.
Fully serviced in March 2024. The aperture and focusing operation offer a distinctively comfortable feel compared to other Angenieux zoom lenses. While Angenieux zoom lenses tend to shift focus position during zooming, this unit exhibits only minimal signs of such behavior.
The glass is in excellent condition, with no haze or noticeable cleaning marks, maintaining a pristine state. It boasts superior glass condition compared to other lenses of its kind.
Comes with hood, display case and genuine front/rear caps.
