Leitz zoom hood FIKUS for 35/50/90/135mm lenses. A36 slip-on type. Rare nickel version. This example is engraved with 13.5cm, 9cm, Elmar 5cm, and Hektor 5cm. The hood section features a silver inlay reading Ernst Leitz Wetzlar.

Ideal for black paint Barnack Leicas such as the DII and DIII, as well as for those who favor nickel lenses. A convenient accessory that allows one hood to be used with four different lenses.

This particular piece is believed to have been an export FIKUS, bearing a Germany engraving in silver inlay. It is unusual that the Germany mark is not stamped on the base of the hood, but rather near the retaining screw on the hood section itself.

Paint loss and minor scuff marks can be seen, but for an early nickel FIKUS, the overall appearance remains relatively good.

All functions have been checked, and mounting on A36 lenses has been confirmed. As this FIKUS dates from the era of the Hektor 50mm and early Elmar lenses, it may fit tightly or be difficult to mount on later postwar lenses such as the Red Elmar. Please note this point.
