※About rarity
Meyer-Optik Primoplan 80mm f1.9. Manufactured around 1933. This particular lens bears the Meyer Gorlitz brand. Non-coated. It features a 5 elements in 4 groups configuration, an evolved type of the Ernostar design. This lens has been modified from a Nacht-Exakta standard lens to fit the Nikon F mount. When shooting wide open or against strong backlight, it tends to flare slightly. However, when shooting with darker backgrounds, it produces incredibly soft and beautiful images. It is a lens with a rich character, offering precise rendering and gentle blurring. There are minor paint losses, considering it is a lens nearly 90 years old; however, it is in sufficiently good condition. In March 2024, the lens underwent cleaning, and the aperture blades were lubricated, among other maintenance tasks. It offers a very smooth operational feel, including the helicoid. The lens exhibits only a few very light wiping marks on the front element, but otherwise, the glass is exceptionally clean, with no haze or other issues. Practical shooting tests yielded satisfactory results. We would appreciate it if you could visit our gallery for more details.
