In this special feature, we are introducing 13 FISON hoods all at once, and this is the 5th version. 5/13
One-piece construction, engraved marking moved to the top, wide ribbed finish, no locking screw.
A hood for the Elmar 50mm f3.5.
This type followed the rectangular hood for the very earliest Leica Model A, and represents the final period of the screwless FISON. Brass with black paint.
Compared with the previous 4th version, the ribs are wider, and the Leitz Wetzlar engraving has been moved to the top of the hood. These are the same features seen on the earliest model with a locking screw, suggesting that this piece is very likely one of the final versions among the one-piece FISON hoods.
Actual measured weight is approximately 13.4g.
Proudly engraved with Leitz Wetzlar in silver inlay, this is an early Leica lens hood with truly commanding presence!
There are only minimal signs of wear and paint loss, and for an early FISON hood made around 90 years ago, it is in very good condition. No noticeable scratches or dents are seen. Considering its age, it would be fair to call it a beautiful example.
A perfect companion for a nickel Elmar or Leica Model A.
Rare.
