This special feature introduces 13 FISON hoods all at once, and this is the sixth version. 6/13
With set screw, all brass, nickel screw, two-line engraving.
A hood for the Elmar 50mm f3.5.
From this model onward, a set screw was adopted. A major turning point in FISON history, haha.
This is an early screw-type FISON. While carrying over the wide ribs and the higher engraving position of the final screwless FISON, it finally received a set screw! One can only imagine how many hood-dropping accidents were prevented by the introduction of this screw. A truly welcome improvement!
Also from this model onward, the silver-inlaid engraving became the two-line Elmar 5cm Ernst Leitz Wetzlar. For enthusiasts, more engraved lettering is always a joy, haha.
The hood base, front rim, and the leaf springs at the lens-mounting section are all made of brass. The entire hood is finished in beautiful black paint. Actual measured weight is approximately 18.9g.
FISON is also known for its many variations, endlessly stimulating the curiosity and desire of collectors and enthusiasts alike.
There is minor paint loss from use, giving it a nicely aged and atmospheric appearance.
Test-fitted on an A36 Elmar. Early screw-retained FISON hoods, like early FLQOO hoods, tend to fit rather tightly, and may be difficult to mount on Elmars with a larger front name-ring diameter. There are individual variations among Elmars, but earlier examples tend to have a smaller diameter, while later ones tend to be slightly larger. This hood fits quite tightly, and mounting it on later examples such as Red Scale Elmars will likely be difficult. We recommend checking the fit with the actual lens.
Rare item.
