※About rarity

French-made Angénieux 28mm f3.5, Type R11. Alpa mount. This version features automatic aperture control. Cool black barrel, the Type R11 was introduced in 1953. This particular lens, manufactured in 1971, represents one of the later examples of the R11 model. It consists of 6 groups with 6 elements, utilizing a retrofocus design.

The design stands out with its sharp-looking black finish accentuated by red and white lettering. It features automatic and manual aperture switching, with a sophisticated dial for aperture adjustment.

While the Type R11 is commonly associated with Exakta and M42 mounts, it was also available in Alpa, Praktina, Rectaflex, and Leica screw mounts.

With its sharp rendering from wide open and a pleasing softness in the periphery, the Type R11 delivers an inviting atmosphere in its images.

A perfect match for Alpa 11si, 6c, or 9d in black paint, and similar cameras.

There is hardly any sign of use, making for a very clean exterior. It would complement a new-class body exceptionally well.

Fully seviced in April 2024, this lens, known for its intricate disassembly and maintenance requirements, has had its operation delicately adjusted to provide a balanced movement and a pleasant torque sensation.

There are no signs of haze or noticeable cleaning marks on the lens. Exceptionally clean glass, typical of Angénieux lenses.
