Kowa SW Black Paint. Manufactured by Kowa Optical, this snap-shooter was released in 1964. It features a super-wide 28mm f3.2 Kowa lens, which is a modified Xenotar design.
Although it uses a distance scale, the deep depth of field makes it easy to take sharp photos. It is equipped with a Seiko SLV shutter and a Kepler-type viewfinder with excellent visibility. The camera’s design minimizes thickness, creating a positive impression.
At the time, it was a reasonably priced model that could be purchased for the cost of a single 28mm interchangeable lens. Its high quality made it popular among professional photographers, and it remains an excellent choice as a secondary camera.
The camera shows minor wear around the hanging ring and a deeper scratch on the filter rim. Otherwise, it is generally in very clean condition, with a crisp and well-maintained appearance.
All functions are working smoothly. The lens shows no noticeable cleaning marks or haze and remains clear and sharp. A small 5mm knob has been added to the aperture ring to enhance its usability.
This camera was actively used by one of our customers until recently, so it is ready for reliable use. It comes with the original lens hood and leather case.
