※About rarity

The final model of the Barnack Leica, the Leica IIIg. The Leitz product code is GOOEF. Equipped with a large tripod socket (with small-thread adapter included).
The serial number is in the 820,000 range, manufactured in 1956. Following the release of the Leica M3 in 1954, this camera comes from the mid to late 1950s—a golden era of postwar Leitz—when many attractive models such as the Leica MP, black M3, and military olive versions were introduced.
Built without regard to cost, its exceptional quality in both design and manufacturing is truly captivating even to simply admire. Incorporating technology from the Leica M3, it features parallax correction and built-in bright frames for 50mm and 90mm lenses. The viewfinder is superbly clear, and in terms of usability, it stands out as the finest Barnack Leica.

Light linear scratches are visible on the apron to the left of the mount and above the slow speed dial, and there are somewhat more scuff marks on the bottom plate. Elsewhere, including the top plate, there are no noticeable scratches, making this a fairly clean example overall. No dents or dings are present. The vulcanite shows minimal wear, offering a smooth, pleasant grip, and remains fully original with no losses.
Overhauled in February 2026. All functions including film advance, shutter, and self-timer operate very smoothly and reliably. The finder is bright and clear, with good contrast in the rangefinder patch.
A clean Leica IIIg well suited for practical use.
A solid genuine leather case for the IIIg is included. The case uses a small-thread screw.
