Serial number in the 860,000 range, manufactured in 1957. Produced during Leica’s golden postwar era—alongside legendary models such as the Leica MP and military-issue M3 Olive.

Incorporating technology from the Leica M3, it features parallax correction and built-in bright frames for both 50mm and 90mm lenses. With its bright, clear viewfinder and outstanding usability, the IIIg stands out as the most user-friendly of all Barnack Leicas.

This Leica IIIg has been cherished by a collector for many years. Apart from a single fine scratch on the rewind knob and another on the accessory shoe, there are no noticeable scuffs, scratches, or dings—an exceptionally clean example. The original vulcanite covering is still intact and has a pleasing texture.

Fully overhauled in May 2025. The film advance, shutter, self-timer, and other functions all operate smoothly and reliably. The viewfinder is bright and clear, with strong contrast in the rangefinder patch.
