※About rarity
Leica M4-2, Black Chrome. Introduced in 1978 and manufactured for three years until 1980. This particular unit has a serial number in the 1.46 million range, indicating it was produced relatively early around 1977-78. Manufactured by Leitz Canada with product code 10410. The bright frame accommodates lenses of 35/50/90/135mm, same as Leica M4. Based on the Leica M4, it omits the self-timer. The accessory shoe is a hot shoe (with X-contact) and designed to support motor winders. It is in excellent condition. Very faint scratch on the bottom plate, but otherwise, there is hardly any sign of use. This camera was acquired from a collector in Japan and still exudes a brand-new feeling. The vulcanite texture is pronounced, offering a smooth and refreshing grip. It was serviced in April 2024. The operational feel of each part is smooth. The viewfinder provides a clear and crisp view, with excellent contrast for double images. It comes with what appears to be the original strap from that time, which suggests it may have never been used.
