Leica’s classic standard hood, the IROOA. This example is the early type, with a slightly longer hood length than later versions. Its later product code is 12571J. It fits lenses with an E39, 39mm screw-in filter thread.

As an early IROOA, it is engraved only for the Summaron 3.5cm and Summicron 5cm, but it can also be used with lenses such as the Summicron 35mm f2 8-element and Elmar 50mm f2.8.

Compatible with many lenses, its simple and stylish design makes it a reassuring accessory to have on hand. It enhances the look of your lens while offering excellent practical performance as a hood. A fine product from the golden age of Leitz.

There is slight paint loss on the hood and on the inside, but otherwise this is a very beautiful hood with no signs of use. The semi-gloss finish of the painted areas remains beautiful.

An exceptional IROOA in this condition is becoming harder to find year by year.
