In this special feature, we are introducing 13 FISON hoods all at once. This is the third version. 3/13
One-piece construction, engraved, no ribbing, no retaining screw.
A lens hood for the Elmar 50mm f3.5.
This is the type that followed the rectangular hood for the very earliest Leica Model A, and is an early screwless FISON model. Black paint over brass.
It belongs to the early one-piece construction era, before ribbing had yet been introduced.
This model was the first to feature the Leitz Wetzlar engraving in silver inlay. One can only imagine how many FISON hoods were spared from the trash thanks to this engraving...
For this type of FISON, the section that slips onto the lens is relatively short. Actual weight is approximately 10.4g.
Paint loss from normal use can be seen overall, but there are no noticeable dents or distortion. Although it is somewhat hard to see due to the surrounding paint loss, the silver-inlaid lettering remains clearly intact.
Mounting has been tested on an A36 Elmar. This type is fitted by adjusting the claws. Please take care not to damage the claws when making adjustments.
Also well suited for collection. A perfect match for a Leica Model A with great atmosphere. Rare item.
