Nikkor-H 5cm f2, the standard lens for the Nikon S series, is a Sonnar-type lens with a 3-group 6-element construction. Its rendering is softer near the wide-open aperture, but stopping down by about two stops transforms it into the crisp, sharp rendering characteristic of Nikkor lenses. It can also be enjoyed on mirrorless cameras via an adapter. Included with the lens are a genuine hood, front cap, and a third-party rear cap. There are minor paint loss and some abrasions on the black-painted parts, while the chrome-plated surfaces are in excellent condition, presenting a fairly clean exterior appearance. In March 2024, the glass was cleaned. Though there are very slight wiping marks and minor coating wear, they are unlikely to affect photography. The focus is also in good condition.
