A universal finder made by Nikon with a black paint finish. This example is a late version in which the accessory shoe has been omitted and the parallax compensation dial has been moved to the rear. Strictly speaking, the sequence is chrome finish with shoe, then black paint with shoe, then this version, making it a late-late type. Parallax markings are in feet.
Because a zoom-type finder was also sold at the time, this model did not sell particularly well, and surviving examples are not very common.
It supports 35, 50, 85, 105, and 135 mm lenses, offering broad compatibility. Period catalogs even advertised it as a universal finder. The tip of the housing features internal threads for attaching the 2.8 cm accessory.
There is minor paint loss on the edges, but overall it is a clean piece. Both the focal length ring and the parallax correction ring operate smoothly. The glass shows slight haze, though it still performs well enough for practical use. Servicing can be arranged separately if desired.
A genuine leather case is included. The case shows more signs of use compared to the viewfinder itself.
