This particular item has an appealing serial number ending in 001. Rooted in the Zeiss Contax Sonnar 50mm f1.5, 3 elements in 7 groups. This black barrel model is lighter than previous 50/1.4 versions, weighing just 143g. The lens name changed from Nikkor-S.C, dropping the red 'C', to a simpler white 'Nikkor-S'. The filter diameter is 43mm. Often used with adapters on Leica and other mirrorless digital cameras, this lens is beloved for its soft, delicate rendering at wider apertures and shifts to sharper images when stopped down about three stops. It's a classic old lens that can be enjoyed at a reasonable price. The lens appears barely used and is in excellent condition. You can enjoy the soft semi-gloss finish of the black paint. It feels like a Nikkor from the days it was brand new. All parts function properly. The aperture ring feels slightly stiff (maintenance is available at an additional cost). The aperture blades are clean. Focus has been checked with our demo unit. There are a few very shallow cleaning marks on the rear element, but the glass is clear.
