※About rarity

Nikkor-S.C 5cm f1.4, early model with chrome barrel. Standard lens for Nikon S series. Made by Nippon Kogaku. This lens is from the time when the nameplate changed from Tokyo to Japan. Sonnar type with 7 elements in 3 groups. Nikon S inner claw mount. Filter diameter is 43mm. At the time, it was the world's first lens to achieve a brightness of f1.4 at 50mm, but it is said that the actual brightness was closer to f1.5.
The image is soft from the maximum aperture to around f2, but when stopped down to f4, it changes drastically and becomes sharp. In recent years, there are many adapters for Leica and mirrorless cameras, and the field of use is expanding. A fun lens at a reasonable price.

There are some light scuffs, but no dents or noticeable scratches, and the lens barrel is in good condition.
All parts work well, and the aperture blades are clean.
The lens has light wipe marks on the front and rear lenses, but this will not affect shooting image. The glass is otherwise clear and free of haze. The results of the actual shooting test were also good.
You can use this with not only the Nikon S series, but also various films and digital cameras via an adapter.
