W-Nikkor 28mm f3.5. A wide-angle lens for the Nikon S series rangefinder cameras by Nippon Kogaku. It is said that approximately 10,000 units were produced, including those for Leica L mount. This example is a later version, featuring a lightweight aluminum barrel with a black paint finish.
An Orthometar-type optical design with 4 groups and 6 elements. It has a light coating and feet scale markings. Weighing only 99g, it is compact and lightweight.
The recessed, funnel-shaped front design eliminates the need for a hood. A dedicated round hood was originally available for this lens, though it is quite rare.
Not only does it pair beautifully with Nikon S bodies, it also looks very stylish when mounted on modern digital mirrorless cameras. A lens to enjoy both shooting and admiring.
Shows almost no signs of use and presents a very clean appearance. The smooth sheen of the black paint and the crisp shine of the chrome plating make this a particularly attractive piece.
The aperture ring has a pleasant click feel, and the helicoid operates smoothly.
Under strong LED light, a couple of very faint cleaning marks can be seen on the rear element, along with extremely slight coating wear on an inner element, but these will have no noticeable impact on actual shooting.
Comes with the original front cap and leather case.
