※About rarity

Canon wide-angle lens for Leica screw mount, with rangefinder coupling, introduced in 1956. This model is the final version of the 28mm f2.8, manufactured in the early 1970s. It features a 4-group, 6-element configuration with metric markings. The filter size is 40mm screw-in.
The lens was designed by Hiroshi Ito, who also designed other notable lenses such as the 85mm f1.5, f1.9, and 100mm f3.5. Despite its f2.8 aperture, it is a compact and highly capable wide-angle lens.

The lens shows minimal signs of use and is in very good condition, with no noticeable scratches or scuff marks. All parts function properly, and the aperture blades are clean. The rangefinder coupling works perfectly.
Under strong LED light, minor coating wear and some extremely fine dust particles are visible in the lens, but these should not affect actual photography. There are no cleaning marks or haze, and test results from real-world shooting are very good, offering sharp images even at maximum aperture.
The lens comes with the original finder, front cap, and case. The original leather case provided is for a 28mm f3.5 lens. As the rear cap is not original, the case does not close tightly. The included finder has a very slight haze, but the visibility remains good.
