A clip-on UV filter for the A36 Elmar. It features a two-part construction consisting of a frame fitted to the 36mm outer diameter of the lens and a screw-in retaining ring that secures the glass.
This is an early type introduced in 1925. At the time, four versions were produced: Yellow No.0 to No.3. The present example uses a No.2 (FILGE) frame fitted with a modern UV filter glass.
Please note that although it is also A36 size, the Hector 50mm has a slightly taller aperture ring and this filter cannot be mounted on it.
A filter that pairs beautifully with Leica A cameras of the 1920s, allowing you to enjoy a truly period-correct setup.

The exterior is quite beautiful, hard to believe it has been around for over 100 years since its manufacture.
The glass is clear, with no cleaning marks.
Tested for proper fit on our Leica A and Elmar 35mm.
