※About rarity

Leica IIIf Red Dial. Serial number: 720,000 range. Manufactured in 1954, the same year the Leica M3 was released. Leitz product code: LOOHN.
Introduced in 1950 as the successor to the Leica IIIc, the early models of the Leica IIIf featured no self-timer and had black engraving on the flash sync dial (Black Dial). Later versions switched to red engraving (Red Dial). This particular unit is the final version of the IIIf, produced in 1954, which includes a self-timer.
Renowned for its high level of refinement, the IIIf holds the record for the highest production numbers among all Barnack-type Leicas, with an eight-year production run until 1957. Thanks to its large production volume, the IIIf is reasonably priced and known for its reliability, making it an excellent choice for those new to Leica cameras.
Pairing it with a contemporary Red Elmar lens makes it a perfect entry point into the world of Barnack Leicas!

There is one small dent on the left edge of the top plate and one small scratch on the right corner. Additionally, there are light scuffs and shine from use throughout, making it an ideal condition for those who want a camera they can fully enjoy without hesitation.
In February 2025, it underwent a complete overhaul, including shutter curtain replacement. Both film advance and rewind dials operate smoothly, the shutter sounds crisp, and the self-timer functions perfectly.
The viewfinder shows slight glass deterioration, but visibility remains excellent, with a clear and distinct rangefinder patch.
A highly portable and versatile Barnack Leica, ready to accompany you to the streets andmountains.
