Leitz brightline viewfinder VIOOH. Black/chrome finish. Known overseas as the Imarect finder, and in Japan as the seizo Vidom. It was produced over a long period from around 1938 to 1964.
This example is a rare version with a black-painted nose section, commonly referred to in Japan as senkuro and overseas as the Black Nose. It is also illustrated on page 22 of James Lager’s book, Leica An Illustrated History Vol. III Accessories.
The black paint has a slightly matte texture and appears to be original.
The parallax compensation dial is marked in meters. It features frame selection for 35/50/73/90/135mm, the early E. LEITZ logo, and no serial number.
There is slight paint loss on the tip of the black nose section. In addition, there are very light scuffs on the chrome-plated areas and a very slight distortion on the shoe, but there are no deep scratches, and overall it presents a very clean appearance.
The glass was cleaned in March 2026. Many Imarect finders tend to have haze, but this example is clear and offers a crisp view.
Comes with the original case. A great addition to your collection!
