※About rarity
SUMUS. Nickel plated Summar 5cm. Fast large diameter lens of Leitz in prewar era. Black painted rim. Produced in small quantity only after rigid Summar. Manufactured in 1933. Hexagonal aperture. No coating. Meter scale. Summar with well-serviced clean elements shows great pictures, but difficult to come by. Slight used but able to regard as beautiful condition. Fully serviced in Mar 2022. Excellent working aperture and helicoid. Infinity stopper slides in very smoothly. Antireflection paint of inner barrel refreshed. Faint deterioration of glass and a few very shallow cleaning marks on front element yet no haze or no major marks. Very clean original elements as Summar. Please enjoy the tasteful Summar, thick taste of double-gauss-type vintage lens, the origin of Leitz 50mm f2 lens series.
